We have been informed that Islamic regime in Iran has arrested many due to political activities against the regime, and sentenced them by Islamic accusations such as: Apostasy, insulting Imams and the prophet and joining political groups against the Islamic regime (Baghi). The Islamic regime has been arresting atheists and Ex Muslims shorty after they overcome the Iranian 1979 revolution. However, the number of activists who been arrested, tutored and executed for apostasy, insulting Imams and the prophet and joining political groups against the Islamic regime (Baghi), have risen dramatically since the ”Woman Life Freedom” revolution started.
We, at the Central Committee of Ex Muslims in Scandinavia gather the information of those been arrested and will send our documents to legal human rights organization, therefore we call on everyone who knows someone who is currently in prison for mentioned accusations.
Here is the list we have provided so far:
Atena Farghadani:
Atena Farghadani is an Iranian artist and political activist. She was first arrested in August 2014 for a cartoon she drew lampooning a family planning law, which depicted lawmakers as animals.
Atena is now accused of insulting the 12th Shia Imam, Mehdi.
Shariar Bayat
Shahriar Bayat, a 64-year-old political prisoner currently held in Evin Prison, has been sentenced to death by the Tehran Criminal Court for allegedly “insulting the prophet of Islam.”
AliAkbar Zar
Political activist who criticised the Islamic regime policies and the supreme Islamic leader, Ali khamenei is now in prison for apostasy.
Hassan Khalkhal Zard
Hassan Khalkhal Zard, a 32-year-old Iranian man who has languished behind bars for 11 weeks, is facing the death penalty for his online activities, IranWire has learned.Khalkhal Zard was arrested on October 1 by intelligence agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and is now being held in the quarantine ward of Gonbad-e Kavus prison in the northeastern city of Galikesh, according to a source close to him.He is facing three serious charges: insulting the holy tenets of Islam, insulting the leader of the Islamic Republic and blasphemy, which can carry the death penalty.
Varishesh Moradi
Varisheh Moradi, a resident of Sanandaj, has been indicted by Branch 5 of the Public and Revolutionary Court of Tehran on charges of armed rebellion (Islamic term: Baghi), potentially leading to severe punishment, including the death penalty.
Nayeb Askari
Nayeb (Naeb) Askari, held in Urmia Prison, is at risk of execution after the Urmia Revolutionary Court sentenced him to death for Baghi (armed rebellion) in a recent retrial.
Toomaj Salehi
On January 21, 2024, the Public and Revolutionary Courthouse of Isfahan indicted singer Toomaj Salehi on multiple charges, including Baghi, an accusation of armed rebellion that carries the potential for severe punishment, including execution
Forough Taghipour, Marzieh Farsi
On December 9 at Evin Courthouse, political prisoners Forough Taghipour and Marzieh Farsi, along with Nasim Gholami Fard, were indicted on charges of “armed rebellion (Baghi),” potentially carrying severe consequences. Their alleged collaboration with a political opposition party has been presented as evidence for this charge.
Pakhshan Azizi
Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish woman activist and former political prisoner from Mahabad, was accused of “membership in the country’s opposition groups” by the fifth investigation branch of the Evin Security Prosecutor’s Office.
Mahmood Mehrabi
Mahmood (Mahmoud) Mehrabi has been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court in Isfahan on charges of “spreading corruption on earth.” He is currently held at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.
